S. Hall woman jailed on 24 counts of animal cruelty

A 47-year-old South Hall woman was still in the Hall County Jail Friday afternoon following her arrest Wednesday on 24 counts of cruelty to animals. Jennifer Sue Gibbons’ bond has been set at $57,600, according to the sheriff’s office.

County spokeswoman Joy Licciardi says animal services rescued 24 dogs from a residence in the 6000 block of Whispering Pines in Buford.

“Following a report to the Hall County Animal Shelter, Hall County Animal Control, with the assistance of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on the property,” Licciardi said. “Upon entry, officers found 24 dogs and several violations, including poor sanitation and lack of space.”

Impounds involving multiple animals pose a critical need for adoptions and fostering, she added. “Those interested in adopting or fostering can visit the shelter during regular business hours, Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or visit the Hall County Animal Shelter online to browse its adoptable pets.”
