The sale of alcoholic beverages on Christmas Day in Hall County was approved by the county commission Thursday night.
A county spokeswoman confirmed the vote Thursday night.
The amendment to the county’s alcoholic beverage ordinance covers both the package sale and by-the-drink sales.
The amendment reads, in part:
““The hours of sale of packaged malt beverages and wines shall be between 7:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Monday through Saturdays, and 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays.
“The hours of sale of packaged malt beverages and wines on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, unless Christmas Eve or Day falls on a Sunday, shall be 7:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
“The hours of sale for consumption on the premises of malt beverages and wine shall be 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. Monday through Fridays, and 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays. Hours on Saturday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day shall be 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., unless Christmas Eve or Day falls on a Sunday.
“The hours of sale for consumption on the premises of distilled spirits shall be 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. Monday through Fridays, and 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays. Hours on Saturday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day shall be 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., unless Christmas Eve or Day falls on a Sunday.”
