*The Teachers of the Year for the Gainesville and Hall County school systems each received a $10,000 check from the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation Tuesday. Ribia Castro is a teacher at West Halll High School (the county system) and Anna Hortman teaches at the city’s Mundy Mill Arts Academy.
*Both lanes of Grove Street between 761 Grove and the intersection at 302 Summit Street will be closed during the day the rest of the week, according to city officials. The street will be closed each day through Friday from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to allow for water and sewer work.
