EHHS HEO state winners; Brenau commencement; Interim Habersham Co. Manager

*Students from East Hall High School’s (EHHS) Heavy Equipment Operations Program (HEO) recently participated in the Georgia’s first HEO State Championship Competition. Out of 25 counties, Omar Garcia took first place in the student competition. East Hall teacher Horace Kilgore placed first in the teacher competition.

*Brenau University will hold winter commencement ceremonies Friday for summer and fall graduates. More than 200 graduating students are slated to attend the ceremonies to be held at Pearce Auditorium.

*Tim Sims, Habersham County’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has been named Interim County Manager.
To ensure a smooth transition, County Manager Alicia Vaughn will be updating Sims on current county projects and upcoming initiatives up until her departure December 27. Sims will continue to serve in his current role as CFO.
