Local officials and over 1,000 students were at Cherokee Bluff High School Wednesday for this school year’s first Safe Driving Summit, sponsored by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the Lutzie43 Foundation.
The students heard from elected officials, countless first responders, survivors of serious traffic accidents, and family members who have lost loved ones in such accidents. In addition, they got a look at a realistic trauma scene, got a first-hand look at the road from inside a tractor trailer, and learned what car crash survivors have to go through on their road to recovery.
