Drive-by shooting ends with death of wrong person

Suwanee Police have made one arrest in connection with a drive-by shooting early Friday morning that left one person dead. And they say the victim was not the target of the alleged shooter.

It happened about 2:30 at a house on Baxley Village Trail.

WSB-TV reports the shooter’s bullet struck the intended victim’s mother. 45-year-old Nicole Winds Clemons was taken to Northside Gwinnett Hospital where she died.

The suspect, 23-year-old Christian Marcus Ware Lessington, lived in the same neighborhood and was arrested as he tried to leave the scene of the shooting, according to police.
