A woman was found dead in Lula Sunday night by Banks County Sheriff’s deputies responding to a report of a shooting. It happened in the Moccasin Gap Road area, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
“Deputies discovered a deceased female victim with a gunshot wound,” the release said. “After a preliminary investigation, it has been determined to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public. A person of interest is currently in custody on unrelated charges.”
