Nearly $30 million worth of building permits were approved by the city of Gainesville last month.
That includes 55 for commercial structures worth $19.2 million. Of that total, two were for new construction expected to cost $9.1 million. Two were also issued for additions and remodeling with a $7.6 million price tag.
In addition, 101 residential permits were okayed for $9.6 million in construction. That includes 42 new single-family homes worth $8.6 million.
Though they are not line-itemed here, the report is rounded out with permits for such things as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) work.
