A Gainesville man remained in jail Tuesday afternoon after he caused several traffic accidents on Browns Bridge Road during morning rush hour Monday and after fleeing the scene on foot was arrested following a brief manhunt, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reports.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“The initial collision occurred around 8 a.m. when a driver, later identified as Brandon Quertez Goss, 32, was traveling westbound on Browns Bridge Road and crossed the centerline of the roadway near Cumberland Drive, striking an eastbound Ford F250. The pickup truck spun counter-clockwise and sideswiped a westbound Ford F150 that was traveling behind Goss.
Goss continued westbound, driving in the eastbound lane, sideswiping a passenger vehicle that had been traveling behind the F250. At that point, Goss’s vehicle was disabled. He exited his vehicle and ran from the scene. After a brief search by a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) K9 team, deputies located Goss hiding underneath a porch at a residence on Holland Drive.
Goss was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence, duty to stop at accident/hit and run (2 counts), no insurance, driving while license suspended and driving with a suspended tag. Goss remains in the Hall County Jail on a bond of $18,660.
No injuries were reported in the collisions.”
