Hiker rescued from Dukes Creek Falls area; hiking safety tips

A hiker is recovering from injuries sustained in a fall along a popular hiking trail in White County earlier this week. WRWH quotes White County Public Safety officials a saying it happened Wednesday on Dukes Creek Falls Trail.

Personnel from several agencies participated in the rescue effort including four from White County and the Lee Arrendale Correctional Institute Fire Service in Habersham County.

The injured hiker was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment.
