5-month-old theft investigation ends in arrest; Rape arrest made after incident earlier this week

*A Dawsonville woman remained in the Hall County Jail Thursday following her arrest on a warrant issued earlier this year related to the theft of a financial transaction card. Investigators with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) initiated the case on May 4 when the victim reported her transaction card had been stolen from her purse, which she had left in her boyfriend’s vehicle and after he allowed a friend to borrow the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the card had been used at stores in Forsyth and Hall counties. Surveillance video led to the arrest of Amber Dawn Eberhard, 39, Monday on charges of financial card theft and financial transaction card fraud.

*Osman Figueroa-Villeda, 40, faces a single felony count of rape in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Monday morning, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). The preliminary investigation determined that Figueroa-Villeda raped a woman, with whom he is acquainted, at his home in Gainesville. He was arrested Wednesday. Because the investigation is active, no other details will be made public at this time, a statement from the sheriff’s office said. Figueroa-Villeda is being held without bond at the Hall County Jail.
