One person was killed in an early afternoon house fire in the Sardis area Thursday.
“At approximately 12:50 p.m., Hall County Fire Rescue responded to the 4100 block of Sardis Road for reports of a residential fire,” Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) spokeswoman Kimberlie Ledsinger said. “Med 13’s crew arrived on scene and discovered a fully involved single story home. Multiple crews worked together to attack the bulk of the fire while simultaneously searching for the two residents that occupy the home.”
Ledsinger said one of the two people who lived there was found dead.
“The remainder of the fire was extinguished quickly and checked for remaining hot spots,” she added. “The home is a total loss, and the American Red Cross was notified for the other resident. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and will be investigated by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.”
