The first mentions of “frost” for the season are being thrown about by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City with the possibility of frost-like temperatures settling over parts of northeast Georgia this week.
“…far northeast GA could see low temps below 35°F,” the agency declared in a Saturday Facebook post.
That includes such places as Clayton and Blairsville and surrounding areas, with the lowest temperatures – around 35 or below – expected Tuesday night. An accompanying map, though, shows the chances of some frost dipping as close to Gainesville as northern White, Lumpkin and Habersham counties.
For the immediate Gainesville area, lows Tuesday night should “bottom out” around 40. And there’s no rain in the forecast the whole week.
