More than 180 residential building permits were issued by Gainesville during September along with 96 commercial permits.
The 187 residential permits were for construction expected to cost $20.4 million. That includes 31 permits for new single-family homes valued at $7.5 million as well as 15 residential remodeling, additions, and alterations ($1,022,000).
The 96 commercial permits include one for new construction ($500,000) and eleven for remodeling, additions, and alterations ($10.6 million).
The report also includes permits for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
