Final plans are being made for Saturday’s special Habitat event in Gainesville in honor of former President Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday and his 40-year devotion to Habitat.
Earlier this week, the members of a panel which will be part of the day’s events were announced: Jessica Butler, Gateway Domestic Violence; Andrienne Cloud, SmarTech Construction; Andrea Middleton, TBird’s Touch; Ken Gossage, Good News at Noon; Lt. Jessica Van, Gainesville Police Dept.; Jessica Tullar, Gainesville Housing and Special Projects Manager; and Dr. Antonio Rios, Northeast Georgia Physicians Group.

The day will begin at 8:30 with breakfast and the panel discussion at Smithgall Arts Center. Then it will be time to go to work – and no construction experience is required.
EARLIER STORY. POSTED AUG. 31 – Community Build will be held Oct. 5 8:30-noon in honor of former President Jimmy Carter’s 40-year commitment to “building hope with Habitat,” according to the organization.
Beginning with breakfast, Community Build will also feature a panel conversation “discussing the impact homeownership makes on health, security and business in our community. Then, partnering with The Arts Council and Gainesville High School, we’ll pick up our hammers to build together.”
