Gville woman arrested in three-month-old burglary

A second Gainesville woman has been arrested in connection with a three-month-old house burglary. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says she’s also charged with child cruelty. She was picked up Friday at the Gwinnett County Jail.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“According to arrest warrants, Shanna Brooke Malcolm, 23, on June 20, entered a residence in the 5900 block of Blackjack Road. She and another woman, identified as Teresa Benites, 23, also of Gainesville, entered the house uninvited.

While they were there, the pair entered a bedroom and began rummaging for valuables. Three juveniles under the age of 18 were present at the residence at the time. The investigation determined nothing was stolen.

Malcom and Benites left the scene in a vehicle.  Benites was arrested in connection with the crime in July.

Malcolm has been charged with first degree burglary, a felony, and three misdemeanor counts of third-degree child cruelty.”
