The funeral for one of the two teachers killed in the shooting at Apalachee High School a week ago will be held this weekend in Buford.
The service for Cristina Irimie will be held Saturday at 2:00 at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens with burial to follow about 3:30. Visitation will take place Friday 4:00-8:00 p.m.
As we reported last Friday, Irimie and the other teacher who was killed, Richard Aspinwall, each had Hall County connections. Teachers killed in Barrow Co. had Hall Co. ties (wgtjradio.com)
Meanwhile, we’re learning more and more about the 14-year-old police say was responsible for her death and those of another teacher at two students.
11 Alive reported Tuesday that it had been told by an official with Hall County Schools that the alleged gunman, Colt Gray, was a Hall County student for three months, from Aug. 8, 2019, to Nov. 21, 2019.
He later attended West Jackson Middle School in Jackson County from February 2022 to August 2022. He finished sixth grade and then started seventh grade there before transferring to a neighboring district, the TV station was told.
Gray then enrolled at Jefferson Middle School where he finished seventh grade.
