Two longtime supervisors with the Hall County Soil & Water Conservation District (HCSWCD) were honored recently at the annual meeting of the Georgia Association of Conservation Districts (GACD).
Mike Haynes was recognized for 40 years of service and Jane Hemmer for 30.
“We appreciate the tireless efforts made by District Supervisors in conserving, protecting, and improving the natural resources in their local areas,” a posting on the GACD Facebook page says. GACD recognizes District Supervisors each year for dedication to their local Conservation District and natural resources conservation in the state. Supervisors who reach 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 service year milestones receive a pin of service.
Haynes is a full-time farmer in Hall County with a cattle and dairy farm. Hemmer lives on a Hall County farm that has been in his family more than 200 years. She and her husband John and son Lee raise cattle and hogs.
