Applications for unemployment insurance were up in July both statewide and in Hall County when compared to a month earlier.
In Hall County, the number increased by 41.4 percent, while they were up 33.5 percent across the state. In fact, they were up in 134 of the state’s 159 counties. Compared to last year, applications were down in Hall County 2.6 percent and up statewide 10 percent.
