Jackson Co. group received $10K beautification grant

Keep Jackson County Beautiful (KJCB) has been awarded a 2024 MLK Community Improvement Grant from Keep America Beautiful in the amount of $10,000.

MLK grants support communities in “revitalizing, beautifying and transforming areas in and around Martin Luther King Jr. corridors and neighborhoods,” according to a Jackson County Facebook post.

The money will be used to fund a mural that will be designed and installed within the City of Commerce’s Ward 1 around the time of KJCB’s MLK Day of Service.

The grant is one of six applications selected for funding out of 74 applications.
