Records show that Samuel Dean Jaume, 21, was booked into the Hall County Jail about 11:30 Wednesday. Sheriff’s office spokesman Derreck Booth says he was released on $17,100 bond that afternoon.
The state patrol has charged him with two counts of Serious Injury by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
Troopers says the accident happened about 4:00 a.m. on Lula Road May 8 when Jaume’s car left the road in a curve, hit a road sign, traveled across Glade Farm Road, hit a fire hydrant and then a fence at 7421 Lula Road. At that point, the accident report says, the car became airborne, striking a tree in midair, and ejecting a passenger, before coming to stop near the tree.
Jaume, by the way, was one of the fugitives featured on the May 31 edition of the sheriff’s office’s Wanted Wednesday poster.
