Three people were injured, none seriously, in that north Gainesville wreck about noon Wednesday which involved a city WeGo transit van and two other vehicles.
GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“…Troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 6 Gainesville were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles in the area of…Thompson Bridge Rd. near Springview Rd.
Upon arrival, the troopers observed a Ford F-150, driven by Abisai Leon, 22, of Gainesville, at final rest facing north. Also observed was a Ford Transit Van, driven by John Stockton, 69, impacted with the F-150, at final rest facing south, and a Subaru Outback, driven by Kathleen Skelton, 52, of Gainesville facing north at final rest with disabling damage.
The crash investigation determined the Ford van was traveling south on…Thompson Bridge Rd) approaching Springview Rd…when Mr. Stockton experienced a medical episode. The Ford van entered the center turn lane and traveled into the northbound lane where it made contact with the Subaru. Upon impact with the Subaru, the van deflected continuing south in the northbound lanes where it then struck the F-150.
The driver and both passengers of the van were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The collision area was an active work-zone with Department of Transportation workers present.”
