Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a Clermont man Monday afternoon following an investigation into child molestation that began late last month.
Investigators obtained arrest warrants for sexual battery and child molestation, both felonies, and arrested Michael Wayne Greene, 36, following an interview at Hall County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters.
According to the initial investigation, Greene committed the offenses against the female victim, who is under the age of 16, on the afternoon of July 28. He knew the victim prior to the crimes, Deputies took the initial report about the incident approximately one hour after it occurred, when a family member of the victim learned it had happened.
Deputies transported Greene to the Hall County Jail following his arrest. He was still being held with bond as of Tuesday morning.
