A Gainesville woman, who was arrested Monday night on several traffic charges including fleeing and attempting to elude, is free on bond. The events leading to her arrest began after a Hall County sheriff’s deputy spotted her on I-985 driving in and out of her lane of travel several times, at one point driving in two lanes at one time.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:
“The deputy first observed the driver, later identified as Aabria Kian Charles, 30, in the northbound lanes of the interstate in the area of Exit 12.
He activated his emergency equipment for a traffic stop, but Ms. Charles refused to pull over, continuing north on the interstate at speeds of 70 mph. Around Mile Marker 19, the deputy canceled the pursuit, but a Georgia State Patrol (GSP) trooper spotted Ms. Charles and followed her to her residence. He contacted the HCSO deputy to respond to the residence.
After questioning Ms. Charles, the deputy arrested her on the following charges:
· Failure to maintain lane
· Use of wireless communication device while driving (cell phone)
· Concealment of identity of vehicle
· Driving within a gore or median
· Fleeing or attempting to elude
· Brake lights and turn signals required
· DUI-drugs less safe
Ms. Charles was transported to the Hall County Jail where she was booked just after 9:30 p.m. She was released from jail on a bond of $3,250 on Tuesday, July 30.”
