A traffic accident near Oakwood early Saturday left many Jackson EMC (JEMC) customers without power for a time.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says the outage occurred because of a traffic accident on Old Flowery Branch Road between Mountain View and Mabry roads. Complete details were not immediately available, but a sheriff’s office traffic alert said a power pole had been hit.
“Looks like the initial outage when the car hit the pole had 1,598 out,” JEMC’s Wendy Jones said at mid-morning. “Within five minutes we were switching to restore what we could. The pole is being replaced now. The 25 members without power will be restored soon.”
