Kemp names panel to investigate whether Woodard should be suspended

Gov. Brian Kemp Friday appointed a three-member panel to investigate whether Hall County State Court Solicitor-General Stephanie Woodard should be suspended.

The governor issued an executive order appointing retired Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harold Melton, Stephens County Solicitor-General Ann Pickett, and Fulton County Solicitor-General Keith Gammage to the commission.

The group is charged with reviewing the case to determine whether the indictment impacts Woodard’s duties to the detriment of the people of Hall County and it is to recommend to Kemp within 14 days whether Woodard should be suspended.
