Atlanta man accused of breaking into cars at Hall parks

An Atlanta man has been arrested for a series of entering auto cases that occurred in Hall County parks this past fall – six in all.

Authorities said Friday Antrone Tremaine Hughes, 44, was booked at the Hall County Jail on Wednesday, after he was transported from the Forsyth County Jail. Hughes was also implicated in similar crimes in Forsyth County.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) property crimes investigators had been working to solve six entering auto cases that were reported in November 2023 at three county parks – Little Hall Park on Dawsonville Highway, Balus Creek Park on Mountain View Road and Sardis Park on Antioch Church Road.  Investigators developed evidence that led them to Hughes as their suspect, and they issued warrants for his arrest on May 31, 2024.

The crimes occurred on the following dates in the following locations:

Nov. 18, 2023 at Little Hall Park
One vehicle entered (purse and smartphone stolen)

Nov. 19, 2023 at Balus Creek Park
One vehicle entered (one handgun stolen)

Nov. 25, 2023 at Sardis Park
Four vehicles entered (two handguns stolen from one vehicle, one handgun stolen from a second vehicle, a set of golf clubs stolen from a third vehicle, nothing stolen from the fourth vehicle)

In each incident, Hughes damaged the vehicles to gain entry.

Hughes is being held at the Hall County Jail on a bond of $34,200.”
