Waffle House robbery suspect remains at large

The search continues for a suspect who robbed a Waffle House restaurant in the 4700 block Lanier Islands Parkway over the weekend.

HALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“A Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy was dispatched to the restaurant just before 5 a.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024, in reference to an armed robbery call. The initial investigation determined a male suspect, wearing what was described as a “Jason mask,” entered the restaurant and demanded money. The suspect was in possession of a handgun at the time of the holdup. A restaurant employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, and he fled the scene on foot.

There were two employees at the restaurant at the time of the incident. They were not injured. There were no customers in the restaurant at the time.

A K9 team responded to the scene and attempted to track the suspect but was unsuccessful.

Additional descriptors of the suspect:

·         Black

·         6’2”

·         135 lbs.

·         Wearing a black and red hockey mask (Jason mask), a blue puffy jacket with a red hoodie underneath, black pants, blue backpack with babies on it and white Air Force One shoes.

The investigation is being handled by HCSO property crimes investigators.”
