Crime takes no holiday

Arrests made the last 24 hours by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) include cases involving cruelty to children, drug distribution and the electronic transmission of sexually explicit materials. Additional details on each are not likely until Tuesday when HCSO administrative offices open following the holiday weekend.

*A 31-year-old woman was arrested early Monday on charges of First- and Third-degree Cruelty to Children, Simple Battery (two charges), Battery, Aggravated Stalking and Aggravated Stalking. Bond has been set at $7,000.

*The drug distribution charge was lodged against a 50-year-old man and involved marijuana. He’s also facing a number of traffic-related charges. Bond has been set at $260 on the traffic charges but he’s being held without bond on the drug charges.

*And a 45-year-old man was still behind bars as of late Monday morning – and has been since mid-morning Sunday – on the sex-related charge. He’s being held without bond.
