HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies with assistance from the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Tennessee man on Monday morning, Aug. 7, for a kidnapping that happened earlier in the morning in Hall County.
HCSO deputies responded to the 3000 block of Hilltop Circle in reference to a woman, 26, and boy, eight, being kidnapped from their home.
According to the initial investigation, Joshua D. Chambers, 33, of Georgetown, Tennessee, offered to take the victims, who he knew, to McDonalds. Chambers instead drove the victims out of Hall County against their will, and according to arrest warrants, told them he was taking them to his residence in Tennessee. The incident occurred between 2:30 and 2:50 a.m.
Through coordinated efforts with the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies located Chambers’ vehicle in Dahlonega, took him into custody and recovered the victims. No one was injured.
Chambers is charged two times each with kidnapping and false imprisonment, all felonies. He was booked in at the Hall County Jail and remains held without bond.”
