Downtown Gainesville reports the adoption of 17 dogs at Saturday’s annual Mutts On Main -, a record-breaking number for Mutts on Main.
The six-hour event featured food, music, adoptions, a canine “beauty contest,” and lots of costumed and non-costumed canines.
The event coincided with National Puppy Day and Cuddly Kitten Day, according to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, which, by the way reports 12 adoptions since it re-opened to the public last week. The public had been barred from the place for a couple of weeks as it dealt with an outbreak of distemper and parvo.
