N. Hall woman charged with aiding in a jail inmate’s escape

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Rachel Caddell Woodrum, 45, of Murrayville, was arrested Wednesday, March 20, 2024, after she helped a Hall County work release inmate hide from authorities. The preliminary investigation into the incident shows Woodrum was the girlfriend of inmate Dominick Francis Sheerer, 38, of Murrayville. Sheerer had been released from jail temporarily to search for a job, and Woodrum was driving him to potential job sites. Instead, Woodrum booked a room at a hotel on Mundy Mill Road where Sheerer removed his ankle monitor. Woodrum took the monitor and disposed of it in the trash at a nearby coffee shop.

The monitoring company received an alert that the ankle monitor had been tampered with and contacted HCSO. Warrant Service Unit deputies were able to track Woodrum to a location near the coffee shop. Sheerer was found hiding in the hotel room Woodrum had booked.

Woodrum has been charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal and false statements/concealment of facts, both felony crimes. She remains in the Hall County Jail on a bond of $11,400. Sheerer faces additional charges of escape and interference/damage to electronic monitoring device.”
