Ninety percent of Georgia is now drought-free but one of the two most affected parts of the state involves some Gainesville area counties.
The U.S. Drought Monitor’s (USDM) weekly report shows that all or parts of Habersham, White, Lumpkin and Dawson counties are among those in the state where drought conditions exist.
Another cluster of counties, this one in deep southwest Georgia, is also dealing with drought.
