Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators arrested a Gainesville man on Wednesday afternoon in a child molestation investigation that started earlier this fall.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Investigators took J. Eolegario Contreras Diaz De Leon, 53, into custody at HCSO Headquarters. He is charged with aggravated sexual battery and child molestation, both felonies.
According to the initial investigation, Contreras Diaz De Leon committed the crimes against the female victim, who was under the age of 16, at his residence near the west side of Gainesville. The abuse occurred between 2017 and 2018. Contreras Diaz De Leon knew the victim prior to the crimes.
The investigation began on Oct. 23, when a representative with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services reported the allegations to HCSO.
Contreras Diaz De Leon is being held without bond in the Hall County Jail.”
