5 arrested for burglarizing N. Hall home twice since June

Five people have been arrested and charged with burglarizing a vacant house in Murrayville twice in the past three months. One, a woman is in the Hall County Jail; the others, all men, are locked up elsewhere.

HALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“…Candi Dawn Harper, 39, of Cumming, was arrested Thursday, September 12, 2024, on a warrant taken by a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) property crimes investigator. Harper is charged with a single count of felony first degree burglary for her part in a series of thefts from a vacant home in the 6100 block of Thompson Bridge Road.

According to the investigation, the home in question had been unoccupied for about a year following the death of the homeowner. The residence had been inherited by a family member of the homeowner. The initial theft was discovered June 28 when the new homeowner went to the house to cut the grass and noticed the front door had been forced open. That person determined assorted firearms and various household items had been taken.

At that point, the new homeowner installed a trail camera on the property. Video footage was captured of a subsequent break-in on July 5, involving three suspects, including Ms. Harper. In that particular theft, the suspects removed a water heater, a speaker and other personal property from the residence.

The other four suspects have been identified. All are in custody in other jurisdictions on charges unrelated to the residential burglary in Hall County. Warrants have been obtained for their arrests.”
