3rd high-ranking officer leaves HCFR; Habersham has new site for long-planned animal shelter

Just two weeks after the sudden departure of the chief and deputy chief, Hall County Fire Rescue Division Chief Christie Grice has retired. Grice had been with the department since 1998, according to county spokeswoman Joy Holmes, who added that Battalion Chief Shane Kinsey has been named interim Division Chief. Grice was reportedly involved in a relationship with Woodard, according to The Times.

*Habersham County now hopes to break ground on its long-delayed animal shelter next year. Construction has been delayed because the projected cost of grading the original site soared to a cost-prohibitive one million dollars, county spokesman Rob Moore said. The county searched for another site and eventually settled on county-owned property behind South Habersham Middle School.
