UPDATE 1:45 P.M. – GSP: SUV pulled into path of tractor-trailer

The Georgia State Patrol said early Wednesday afternoon that the SUV involved in the accident pulled into the path of the tractor-trailer. The 18-wheeler was southbound on 365; the SUV pulled into its path from the median of the four-lane.

A part of Georgia 365 near the Hall-Habersham County line was shut down for about two hours Tuesday afternoon because of a two-vehicle accident.

It happened just before 5:00 southbound at Alto-Mud Creek Road.

The initial 911 caller reported a tractor-trailer “all the way across the highway” on the northbound side and a black SUV off the road on the southbound shoulder, according to Habersham County spokesman Rob Moore.

Three persons were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville suffering unspecified injuries.

Moore said it was not until 6:55 Tuesday night that all lanes were reopened.

Another wreck on Georgia 365 about 5:30 Tuesday afternoon near the Habersham-Stephens County line injured two people.
