2025 Gainesville Leadership Academy (GLA) graduates

The Gainesville Leadership Academy (GLA) Class of 2025, city employees, recently graduated.

The goal of GLA is to “promote excellence in selecting and managing the city’s diverse workforce.”

GLA is designed to educate participants about the skills, knowledge and resources needed to be effective in leading and coaching other employees, while maintaining compliance with federal and state laws, and city policies and procedures.

Members of the GLA Class of 2025 included Alejandro Chacon Meneses, Crissy Smyth, Russ Chambers, Sara Hunt, Hillary Cochran, Kasey Poff and Nathan Hopkins, all of Gainesville Water Resources;

Christi Beck, Dan Desrochers, Eddie Moreno and Lisa Poole, all of the Gainesville Public Works Department;

David Franklin and Tyler Thurmond, all of the Gainesville Fire Department; Angelyn Miller, Charlie Champion and Zachary Lowery, all of the Gainesville Police Department;

April Trammell, of the Gainesville Human Resources Department;

Mayra Ruelas, of Gainesville Municipal Court;

Mark Supron, of the Gainesville Department of Information Technology;

Glenda Watts, of the Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center;

Britteny Hammonds and Sheila Curry, both of Gainesville Parks & Recreation;

Charity Schlereth, of the Gainesville Public Relations Department;

Aaron Mullican, of the Gainesville Tourism Department;

Elizabeth Betancourt, of the Gainesville Financial Services Department;
