Gainesville Police have recently responded to calls involving a nearly $20,000 burglary and a naked man walking along a public road,
The burglary was reported Saturday. The complainant said it had happened sometime since Feb. 14, a month earlier. Missing, he said, were miscellaneous items valued at $20,000 that included TVs, rugs and other household items, according to police. The burglary occurred at a building in the 1900 block of Old Cornelia Highway.
And the “nekkid” man? Police say the 50-year-old was arrested without incident (or any clothes) late Saturday night in the 1900 block of Atlanta Highway walking along the road after someone reported him. As you consider that, you might want to keep in mind what the late Southern humorist Lewis Grizzard once said: “Naked” means you don’t have any clothes on. “Nekkid” means you don’t have any clothes on and you’re up to somethin’.”
