UPDATE 2: No injuries; Power restored – Wreck leads to power outage in East Hall

***UPDATE 2, POSTED 10:30 A.M.: The state patrol says there were no injuries in the accident. STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On March 14, 2024, at 8:12pm, Troopers responded to SR 52 to investigate a crash.  Mr. Scottie Headrick of Cleveland, Ga, was driving a 2020 Freight Accord U.S. LX tractor trailer. While negotiating a curve on SR 52 (Lula Road), Mr. Headrick struck part of a downed tree in the roadway as well as a fallen, partially suspended power line. Mr. Headrick was able to come to a quick stop and reported the accident.

No one sustained any injuries.”

It was a long night for power crews, and sheriff’s deputies in one part of East Hall.

Lula Road at Julian Wiley Road has been closed to traffic once again for utility work prompted by last night’s traffic accident.

Lula Road is partially reopened, but Georgia DOT and Habersham EMC crews remain in the area. Please continue to travel with caution in the area.

ROAD BLOCKAGE ON LULA ROAD

A tractor trailer has hit a power pole on Lula Road near Julian Wiley Road. Lines are down on the roadway and across the rig. Be aware of extended travel delays in the area.”
