Worker seriously injured in forklift accident

An employee of a Candler Road business was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after suffering a head injury in a forklift accident, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the Americold Logistics cold storage and distribution facility about 1:45 after receiving reports of a traumatic injury involving a forklift, according to a report obtained by 97.5 Glory FM through an Open Records Request.

According to the manager, Jeffery Davidson, the injury occurred while another worker was using a forklift to remove wooden crates from a semi-trailer. Davidson told deputies that the injured worker walked into the path of the forklift, which bumped him and caused him to fall backward, striking the back of his head.

The worker was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville. Deputies later conducted a follow‑up at the hospital, where he was awake and in stable condition, according to the report.
