Work on railroad crossings beginning in Banks, Habersham counties

A contractor for Norfolk Southern continues its work on replacing railroad crossings
between Suwanee and Baldwin.

Work in Habersham and Banks counties could start as early as this week, Habersham officials said Tuesday.

In Habersham, work will temporarily close the following crossings:

 Garland White Road
 Alto Village Road
 Grant Mill Road
 Wynn Shoals Road
 McDaniel Street
 Apple Pie Ridge Road

The contractor says each crossing will be closed for 48 to 72 hours while crews
work to replace the crossties, surface the crossings, and repave the crossings. Emergency vehicles will continue to have access to the crossings.
