Woman allegedly steals neighbor’s car

A Gainesville woman remains in the Hall County Jail in lieu of $7,200 bond following her arrest Tuesday on felony theft charges after a vehicle belonging to a neighbor was discovered in the suspect’s driveway.

“Just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 4900 block of Patterson Drive to investigate the theft of a vehicle,” sheriff’s spokeswoman B.J. Williams wrote in an email Thursday morning. “As the deputies approached the residence, they spotted what appeared to be the stolen vehicle parked in the driveway of another home in the neighborhood. After confirming the vehicle belonged to the 911 caller, deputies approached the residence and made contact with Aleece Nicolette Wade, 32.”

Williams said deputies told Ms. Wade she was under arrest, but she refused to exit the residence. “She was forcibly removed by deputies and taken into custody.”

Wade has been charged with entering an auto to commit a theft and theft by taking-motor vehicle, both felony offenses. She was also charged with misdemeanor obstruction/resisting arrest.
