WINTER STORM UPDATE #9: Roads closed in S. Hall; Closings, delays

Icy conditions had closed several roads in South Hall by late Tuesday night as the winter storm that dumped several inches of snow in south Georgia and Alabama and along the Gulf coast from Florida to Texas moved northward.

At 11:00 Tuesday night, Hall County Emergency Management and Homeland Security (EMA) reported that seven roads were closed: Union Church, Spout Springs, Cash, Roy Parks at Candler, Martin at Amsterdam Lane, Hog Mountain at Blackjack, and Talmo at Mabery.

In its latest advisory, the EMA said travel conditions are expected to worsen with the temperature falling overnight. And check hallcounty.org for frequent updates on closures.

The snow that created the icy roads and left many motorists stranded, some of whom abandoned their vehicles, stopped short of moving into other parts of South Hall and other parts of the county.

Hall County remained under a Winter Storm Warning.
