GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“On 12/19/2023 at approximately 5:50 AM, Post 6 – Gainesville Troopers responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash on SR 365, just north of Whitehall Road. The traffic crash occurred at the driveway entrance of AmeriCold Cold Storage, located at 3801 Cornelia Hwy, Lula, GA 30554.
The investigation revealed that a Kenworth tractor trailer, driven by Tammy Coffee, age 57 of Cornelia, GA, was traveling northbound on SR 365, attempting to turn left into AmeriCold Cold Storage. A Pontiac G6 sedan, driven by Breanna Eldridge, age 26 of Clevland, GA, was traveling southbound on SR 365 in the right lane. Mrs. Coffee failed to yield while turning left and entered the path of the Pontiac. The Pontiac struck the passenger side of the trailer attached to the Kenworth.
The Pontiac traveled slightly under the trailer, entrapping Miss Eldridge inside her vehicle. Hall County EMS arrived on scene and used extraction equipment to remove Miss Eldridge from her vehicle. Miss Eldridge was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. There were no complaints of injury from Mrs. Coffee.
Mrs. Coffee has been charged with Failure to Yield While Turning Left. Further investigation into the vehicle speed of the Pontiac is pending.”
