Truck driver seriously injured in Richard Russell Hwy. crash

A northwest Georgia truck driver suffered serious injuries in a Tuesday night wreck in White County that shut down the Richard Russell Scenic Highway for about six hours.

GEORGIA STATE PATROL (GSP) NARRATIVE:

“…Cameron Patterson, 42, of Crandall, Georgia, failed to maintain his lane and ran off the roadway to the left and then overcorrected…ran off the roadway. The vehicle then traveled into the woods striking multiple trees.

The driver was ejected from his truck and landed in front of the truck.

The driver was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. The roadway was shut down from (11:30 Tuesday night until 4:00 Wednesday morning).”
