A metro Atlanta man was in the White County Jail at last check after a traffic stop Thursday that led to the confiscation of marijuana and cocaine, according to Sheriff Rick Kelley.
Kelley said in a news release Saturday that a deputy stopped an SUV at Hulsey Road and Helen Highway for “speeding and failure to maintain lane.”
“The deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” Kelley added, and a search of it turned up five pounds of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine.
The driver, Chennault Cameron Elijah, 26, Decatur, was arrested and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, Speeding, DUI, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Possession of Cocaine.
