Hall and a number of adjacent counties are now under a flood watch which is not scheduled to expire until Friday night. This comes less than 12 hours after the weather service said the threat was easing.
“A flood watch has been issued through late Friday night,” latest advisory, issued about noon, says. “Repeated rounds of rainfall along a stalled frontal boundary are likely through late week…Widespread rainfall of 1-3 inches will be possible with locally higher amounts of five inches or more. Urban areas, and areas with poor drainage, will be the most susceptible to flash flooding.”
Those adjacent counties included in the watch area are Habersham, White, Lumpkin, Dawson and Forsyth.
