Welcome to the ‘hood

A Gainesville man is free on bond following his arrest last week after a reported dispute with some new neighbors and the people helping them move into the neighborhood. The incident happened, according to the sheriff’s office, Thursday night in the Cool Springs area.

Deputies responded at about 7:40 to the 5700 block of Field View Circle. According to investigators, a 22‑year‑old man and a 45‑year‑old woman were leaving after helping a friend move into a home when they revved the engine of their pickup truck for a child at the residence.

A neighbor, identified as John Roger Wilson, 42, approached the truck, yelled and swung his fist at the occupants. Wilson struck the truck, leaving a scratch, before the pair drove away. He then confronted the man who had moved into the house, yelling profanities before returning to his own residence.

Deputies arrested Wilson on three counts of simple assault and one count of criminal trespass. He was booked into the Hall County Jail and later released Friday afternoon after posting $4,420 bond.
