Zac Reichert is the new head coach of the Brenau University Golden Tigers soccer program. Reichert takes over for Mike Lochstampfor, VP of Athletics, who had served as coach since 2002. Lochstampfor will continue to serve in his administrative role. Reichert has been associate head coach and athletics recruiting coordinator for the program the past three seasons.
Ohio State remains on top of the college football coaches’ poll after Week One of the season, but there are changes behind the Buckeyes. Georgia moved up one spot to second while Alabama dropped one position to 12th.
The Braves got silenced by the Rays 7-1 in their series opener at home last night. AJ Smith-Shawver gave up four runs on five hits and got yanked in the fourth inning. Atlanta has dropped three-of-four and will continue the three-game set tonight.
Meanwhile, the Braves are down a starting pitcher for about a month. Bryce Elder underwent knee surgery yesterday. Manager Walt Weiss says the recovery time will be around three-to-four weeks.
